पश्चिम बंगालच्या मुख्यमंत्री ममता बॅनर्जी यांनी आज पंतप्रधान नरेंद्र मोदी यांची आज संसदेच्या सभागृहात भेट घेतली, यावेळी मुख्यमंत्र्यांसोबत तृणमूल काँग्रेसच्या आमदारांनीही पंतप्रधानांची भेट घेतली.
या बैठकीदरम्यान राज्याला सध्या भेडसावत असलेल्या कर्जाची समस्या उपस्थित केली. या कर्जाचे रुपांतर नंतर मोठ्या व्याज रकमेत होते ज्याचा परिणाम पश्चिम बंगालच्या विकास खर्चावर होतो. मुखर्जी यांनी यावेळी कर्ज माफी आणि कर्जावरील व्याज माफ करण्याची विनंती केली. थकित निधीबाबतही त्यांनी चिंता व्यक्त केली.
पंतप्रधानांनी हे स्पष्ट केले की, त्यांचा सहकारी संघीयवादावर ठाम विश्वास आहे. ते नेहमीच सांगतात की मजबूत राज्यच मजबूत भारत घडवतील, म्हणूनच राज्यातील लोकांच्या विकासात्मक गरजा पूर्ण करण्यासाठी राज्यांनी मजबूत व्हावे.
पश्चिम बंगाल आणि कोलकात्याचा विकास झालाच पाहिजे. यासाठीच आमच्याकडे ‘ॲक्ट ईस्ट’ धोरण आहे. या राज्यांमध्ये बुध्दीमान माणसे आणि अमाप स्रोत आहेत. पश्चिम बंगाल व कोलकात्याच्या विकासासाठी वचनबध्द असल्याचे पंतप्रधानांनी यावेळी नमूद केले.
हाच दृष्टीकोन समोर ठेवून आगामी पाच वर्षांसाठी करामधील 42 टक्के हिस्सा राज्यांना देण्यासाठी केंद्र सरकारने मंजुरी दिली आहे.
कोळसा आणि इतर खनिजांवर पश्चिम बंगालला रॉयल्टी देण्याचे केंद्र सरकारने मंजूर केले आहे ही बाब देखील पंतप्रधानांनी यावेळी नमूद केली. यामुळे राज्याला 1,600 कोटी रुपयांचा वार्षिक फायदा होणार आहे.
